Abbreviation: APP

Association for the Promotion of Plastics (APP) was established in Pune in 1981 and has celebrated its Silver Jubilee in year 2006.

The basic objectives of the Association are:
• To promote the growth of Plastics and related industries, create a common platform and to bring together the members, solve common problems of the Plastic and Polymer Industry.
• To educate the members and propagate up-to-date knowledge related to Plastics-Polymers and spread technical advancement.

Some of the important activities of APP are:
• Working on the project of Auto Cluster Development and Research Institute with Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). This is a unique project of its kind in the country. APP is a Stake Holder in Auto Cluster.
• Publishing monthly bulletin ‘PLASTIC UDYOG’, organising exhibitions related to plastics to bring together the Manufacturers and end users.
• The government had banned use of plastic bags totally. APP played a vital role in negotiating with the Government and creating public awareness.
• The Association is also continuously interacting with various educational, government institutions and other associations.
